Frequently Asked Questions

1. How accurate is this type 2 diabetes risk calculator?
Our calculator uses evidence-based risk factors, providing a risk score aligned with models used by NHS public health programmes. It’s a screening tool, not a diagnosis and only a blood test can confirm your status.

2. What should I do if I’m at high risk?
Book an appointment with your GP for further testing, such as a HbA1c blood test. Alongside that, our dietetic assessment can help to reduce your risk. For more information on this, please see our services page to get started.

3. Can a registered dietitian really help prevent diabetes?
Yes. A UK registered dietitian is a healthcare professional trained to provide personalised, science-based advice. We can help you improve your eating habits, activity levels, and lifestyle in a way that works for you.
